The Common Council voted unanimously Tuesday to allow the city to “purchase, acquire, take and/or eminent domain” an abandoned rail spur near the new South Norwalk School. The property, which abuts 1 Meadow Street Ext. on one side and South Main Street on the other side, has been owned by Ceja Properties, LLC since 2020. According to city officials, the city has been trying to purchase the property for more than a year, but the two sides are far apart on price.
