KEARNEY, Neb. (KSNB) - The Kearney Sportsplex is now open to ring in a new era for indoor sports in the community. The Sportsplex space comes after high demand from coaches, indoor sports players and the public. The project was approved by voters in 2021 and used a one percent restaurant tax to help pay for the facility. The state covered 50 percent of the $45 million bill. The first beam was erected in Feb. 2023, with the final beam going up in April 2024.

RED CLOUD, Neb. (KSNB) - A historic building in downtown Red Cloud is now open for business after years of renovations. Hotel Garber is named after Red Cloud founder and third governor of Nebraska, Silas Garber. Located in the former Potter-Wright building, it housed a bank and a hotel when it was first built. A fire destroyed the top floor in 1961 and the building later fell into disrepair and was abandoned.
