The statewide burn ban put in place last week by Governor Jim Pillen is getting extended for much of Nebraska. His new executive order issued Tuesday stipulates that Central and Western Nebraska remain under a burn ban. Conditions in that half of the state are still very dry, so burning is prohibited through midnight May 10th. The new order, effective now, specifies the border where burning is still not permitted. The line runs south along Highway 81 from the South Dakota border to Highway 92.
