    HASTINGS, Neb. (KSNB) - The fourth annual ‘Miles for Mik’ kicked off on Friday and will go through every hour until 6 a.m. Saturday. The event is a 24-hour walk or run that honors the legacy of Lincoln North Star alum and Hastings College graduate Mikaelah Molifua. The starting point is outside the Jackson Dinsdale Art Center and goes around Heartwell Park in Hastings. When Molifua first arrived on Hastings College’s campus she already beat Stage IV cancer.

    HASTINGS, Neb. (KSNB) - Two adults and a juvenile were taken to a hospital following a three-vehicle crash in south Hastings on Monday. Officers were dispatched to the intersection of West B Street and South Burlington Avenue regarding an injury crash at 6:08 p.m. According to Sgt. Ethan Sharman, the investigation shows it was determined that a 23-year-old Arkansas resident was driving northbound on South Burlington Avenue, and failed to stop for a red light at the intersection.

    HASTINGS, Neb. (KSNB) - Girls wrestling is continuing to grow throughout Nebraska and even more specifically in Hastings. Two high schools in the city announced they will have their own girl wrestling teams starting next season. Hastings High School and Adams Central High School have been working their girls wrestling program as a co-op team for the last four years.

    HASTINGS, Neb. (KSNB) - Thursday afternoon Hastings community members took a few minutes out of their day to go to Central Park to raise awareness for child abuse. This effort is all for ‘Pinwheels for Prevention’ that includes more than 60 local agencies, programs and educational institutions. One of the organizations includes the United Way. Executive Director for United Way Southcentral Nebraska, Jodi Graves, said the pinwheel is a symbol to unite everybody as one.

    HASTINGS, Neb. (KSNB) - The Class B Track and Field record books were rewritten Friday at the Waverly Invite. Hastings’ Austin Carrera set a new record in the 3200-meter race with a time of 9:01.62, surpassing the previous record by nearly seven seconds. The previous record, set last year, was held by Norris’ Riley Boonstra with a time of 9:08.10. Congratulations to Austin Carrera for setting the Class B State Record in the 3200m at the Waverly Invite.
