RICHMOND, Va. (WWBT) - We have tagged Monday through Wednesday of next week (June 23-25) as First Alert Weather Days for high heat and humidity. The heat really builds Sunday as we have high temperatures forecast at 97°. Heat index values will be in the triple digits 100-105°. We have high temperature forecasts at 100° for Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. When you factor in the humidity, heat indices will likely head to 105°+.

The Drought Map released Thursday, May 29 shows only a few sections of Virginia considered to be “abnormally dry” or in “moderate drought”The situation is even better than it looks. This map only takes into account rain that fell through Tuesday morning.
