With the postseason starting to heat up and three fiercely competitive rounds of playoff action now officially in the books, it’s time to turn the page to the regional finals round of the 2025 Texas high school softball playoffs. The Lone Star State’s top teams on the softball diamond will compete in the regional finals round of the playoffs on Thursday-Saturday, May 15-17, with the winners punching their tickets to the UIL state semifinals next week.

ABILENE — Coahoma senior Hannah Wells stepped into the batter’s box looking to break the Bulldogettes’ area-round game wide open in the second round of the UIL Softball Playoffs. With two outs, and a pair of runners on base, Wells worked the opposing pitcher into a full count and waited for her opportunity. Then the senior hammered a pitch that drifted too close to the middle of the plate and launched it high over the centerfield fence.

TUSCOLA, Texas — As a freshman, Riley Grohman achieved more success on Jim Ned’s varsity girls basketball squad than most high school standouts experience in their entire careers. Grohman — along with then-freshmen teammates Addison Bradshaw, Gracee Cooley and Emma Doran — helped propel the Lady Indians to the Class 3A regional semifinals in 2022, where they fell to Canadian in a back-and-forth 37-32 loss.
