SPOKANE, Wash. — Following a strong game two performance in Medicine Hat, the Spokane Chiefs swept the weekly WHL awards as Berkly Catton was named the WHL player of the week and Mathis Preston was named the WHL rookie of the week. For Catton, this is the fourth time he has been named the player of the week this season. He scored three goals and dished out an assist as Spokane split the first two games of the WHL championship series.

MEDICINE HAT, AB — The Medicine Hat Tigers proved just how explosive they can be scoring 54 seconds into game one of the WHL Finals and ultimately defeating the Spokane Chiefs 4-1. Medicine Hat brought the energy early in front of a raucous home crowd and the lackadaisical Spokane defense was punished by an Andrew Basha goal less than a minute into the game to send Co-Op Place into a frenzy.

SPOKANE, Wash. — The Washington State and Eastern Washington men's basketball programs have agreed to a three year series dubbed the "509 Classic" at the Spokane Arena. The first game of the three game series will be played on December 17. This year's game will mark the sixth year in a row the two teams have faced each other. “We’re excited to participate in the 509 Classic and bring Cougar basketball to Spokane again.

ROME, Ga. — The Washington State women's tennis team did not drop a point in three matches and defeated Charlotte 4-0 to win the UTR Sports NIT championship. Eva Alvarez Sande and Hania Abouelsaad won both their singles and doubles matches and Chisato Kanemaki won her singles match to lift the Cougs to victory. WSU won each match 4-0 in the NIT completing a clean sweep. Alvarez Sande did not lose a single match and dropped just one set in the entire tournament.

SPOKANE, Wash. — The Spokane Chiefs selected 10 players in the 2025 WHL Draft: two in the U.S. Priority Draft and eight in the WHL Prospects Draft. The Chiefs selected six forwards, three defensemen and a goaltender. Five of the players are from the United States and five are from Canada. Spokane's first pick of the day came in the U.S. Priority Draft where the Chiefs selected forward Parker Colmer 17th overall.
