NAPERVILLE, Ill. — A man on a motorcycle died Thursday night in a crash involving an SUV in Naperville. Officers responded to the intersection of Chicago Avenue and Naper Boulevard on the report of a crash with injuries. Police discovered a 2024 Suzuki motorcycle was involved in a crash with a 2024 VinFast SUV. The motorcyclist, identified as Dante Fields, 26, of Woodridge, was pronounced dead at the scene.

HIGHLAND PARK, Ill. — A man was shot and killed by Highland Park police early Friday morning, according to authorities. Just before 4:55 a.m., officers were dispatched to the 900 block of Half Day Road on the report of a man in the roadway. The 911 caller said the man was almost struck by a car and then stumbled into a residence. The man, 59, who lived at the home, abruptly exited the home armed with a knife after police officers knocked on the door, according to authorities.

CHICAGO — Sammy Sosa is expected to make his return to Wrigley Field Friday afternoon after he reconciled with the club this winter, according to a report from Bob Nightengale. It’s unknown if he will be honored on the field. CHESTERTON, Ind. - A suspect was shot and killed and a Chesterton officer was wounded following an incident Wednesday morning outside of a hotel. Police were dispatched to Hilton Garden Hotel, located in the 500 block of Gateway Boulevard, just after 8:05 a.m. on the report of a suspicious male at the hotel. During a press conference, Indiana State Police said the male suspect was killed following an exchange of gunfire with two Chesterton officers.
