CHESTERTON, Ind. - A suspect was shot and killed and a Chesterton officer was wounded following an incident Wednesday morning outside of a hotel. Police were dispatched to Hilton Garden Hotel, located in the 500 block of Gateway Boulevard, just after 8:05 a.m. on the report of a suspicious male at the hotel. During a press conference, Indiana State Police said the male suspect was killed following an exchange of gunfire with two Chesterton officers.

CHICAGO — There were a lot of tears at the Intensive Supervision Appearance Program (ISAP) Office on Sunday as fear continues to be felt within the immigrant community. “We don’t know what to do. We don’t have a lawyer or money to pay for a lawyer so he can leave voluntarily. He hasn’t done anything to anybody. He’s not a bad person,” a woman, who wanted to remain anonymous, said. She says her father was amongst those detained by ICE on Father’s Day.
