With Election Day inching closer, we caught up with the Douglas County Clerk's Office about how the voting process works on their end. County Clerk Dan Loomis says certified officials scan the barcode of each ballot by hand. Trained staff members then carefully verify each signature. "We have the ability to look at the voter's signature once, but we can look at older images because you have older voter registrations and you sign that pad at the DMV,” Loomis explains.

EUGENE, Ore. — Eugene has a new rapid-access health clinic as of September 25, 2024. A ribbon-cutting ceremony was held Wednesday morning for the Community Health Centers of Lane County's (CHCLC) new clinic on West Eleventh Avenue. Members of the Lane County Board of Commissioners, Health and Human Services, and clinic staff discussed the benefits the new facility will bring, as it aims to reduce barriers to care and decrease overall utilization of emergency services.
