YORK, Pa. — January is National Mentoring Month and a nonprofit organization in central Pennsylvania is working to combat the increase of school dropouts. Communities in Schools of Pennsylvania (CISPA) is striving to do this work, one mentor at a time. “Pa. has very high truancy, which is causing students to not graduate at all and it's pushing kids to be out in the community and in more at-risk situations,” said Khialah Shockley, site coordinator for CISPA.

YORK, Pa. — Earlier this week, the Federal Drug Administration said it's banning the use of Red No. 3 in food, due to its link to cancer in animals. Though doctors feel it's a step in the right direction when it comes to food safety, many other synthetic dyes have people, especially parents, concerned. Fear of certain dyes in food has many double-checking nutritional facts at the grocery store, trying to avoid items made with Red 40, Yellow 5, Yellow 6 and Blue Dye No. 1.

HERSHEY, Pa. — One of Hollywood’s most beloved romantic stories is coming to the Hershey Theatre stage. It’s the national tour of “Pretty Woman: The Musical." “The musical is a love story filled with nostalgia,” said Max Cervantes, who plays Happy Man in the show. The musical shares the story of two people in the 90s from different walks of life that fall in love and change their lives and those around them. HARRISBURG, Pa. — The Milton Hershey School gave children from low-income families a unique opportunity. Thirteen of the school’s students worked with animals all year long to participate in this year’s Pennsylvania Farm Show. During the event, the students showed goats, beef cattle and sheep. Sixteen-year-old Annabelle Fritsch was one of the students who participated. She showed a goat and a sheep, but says it had its challenges.
