Fourth Street in downtown Santa Rosa has reopened Thursday afternoon following a lunchtime road closure caused by a gas leak. Crews from the Santa Rosa Fire Department were called to the area at about 12:15 p.m. after a report of the odor of gas. Officials soon closed off the 600 block of Fourth Street between D Street and Mendocino Avenue, while Pacific Gas & Electric Co. workers located and began repairing the leak, according to SRFD Division Chief Fire Marshal Paul Lowenthal.

One person was arrested after a DUI crash in Forestville left one person dead and himself and another hospitalized Friday night, the California Highway Patrol announced in a Saturday Facebook post. A homicide investigation is underway Wednesday after four people were found dead inside a home along Monarch Court near Occidental Road in Santa Rosa, officials said. Santa Rosa police Lt. Chris Mahurin said the bodies were found at about 3 p.m. inside a home in the 200 block of Monarch Court by police officers performing a welfare check. The discovery marks Santa Rosa's first homicides of 2025.

A traffic accident closed two northbound lanes on Highway 101 near College Avenue in Santa Rosa, according to the California Highway Patrol traffic incident page. The crash, which took place shortly after 6 p.m., involved a white Toyota Tacoma and closed the two right lanes just north of the College Avenue off-ramp, the highway patrol website said. Tow trucks were requested on scene.

A Lake County sheriff's deputy shot and injured a person early Friday morning in the town of Nice on Clear Lake's northern shore, according to the Lake County Sheriff's Office.
