SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO) — A routine search of the Dell Rapids High School parking lot ended with a student in jail. School superintendent Dr. Donavan DeBoer said Thursday’s search was part of a lockdown drill which the school does about three to four times a year. The drug search dogs were part of this drill but that only happens one or two times a year, he said. The South Dakota Highway Patrol brought in dogs to search cars for drugs.

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO) — A Sioux Falls restaurant is closed, and at least two people linked to the business are behind bars. New court docs unsealed in SF officer shooting The parking lot outside the Hibachi Grill and Supreme Buffet on 41st Street sat empty on Tuesday. There was a handwritten sign on the door, saying the restaurant was closed. According to state business records, the owner of the business at 1100 West 41st Street is Hui Weng.

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO) — We are learning more about the man involved in two officer-involved shootings. Samir Albaidhani, 25, is accused of shooting an officer in Sioux Falls, taking off in a stolen SUV, heading south on the interstate and then shooting at another member of law enforcement. Court documents say he hadn’t been out of prison long. Albaidahani was released on parole at the end of October and was listed as a parole absconder.

According to court records, 25-year-old Samir Albaidhani’s criminal history started when he was a teenager. Court documents say he and his friends would look for unlocked cars and steal things from inside. From there, things only escalated. Albaidhani is accused of shooting an officer in Sioux Falls, taking off in a stolen SUV and heading south on the interstate Tuesday afternoon.

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO) — A Sioux Falls kidnapping and murder suspect has made a plea deal in Lincoln County in the death of Pasqalina Badi. Just minutes ago Amir Beaudion pleaded guilty to manslaughter and the judge accepted his plea. All of the other charges including murder, rape, robbery and kidnapping were dropped. Authorities say Beaudion kidnapped Badi from a Sioux Falls Walmart parking lot in 2020. Authorities say he then raped and killed her, before leaving her body in Lincoln County.
