For more than a century and a half, members of the Washington Band of Annville have been performing for their community. The band got its start back in 1856 when nine men from Annville started a coronet band. The group got its name after practicing in the Washington Tavern. Over the years, they played at community concerts and church picnics around Lebanon County. Today, the band is 60 members strong. Mike Yeagley leads the group.

ENGLEWOOD’S BARN SOMETIMES SERVED AS A PLACE TO HIDE VEHICLES AS A 19 YEAR OLD INTERN, THE CENTER WAS JENNY’S FIRST STOP IN WHAT WOULD BE A NEARLY 40 YEAR CAREER AS AN ADVOCATE.

During World War II, nearly 6 million women joined together to help the war effort. The group was represented by the iconic figure of "Rosie the Riveter" for their work in factories, shipyards and other industries. A real-life Rosie is still sharing her story. Dorothy Trate never expected to be recognized for her work, but now she has a Congressional Gold Medal. "It's hard to believe that what it is and what it stands for -- for me to have it, it's hard to believe," she said.

ALONG SOUTH QUEEN STREET IN LANCASTER, THERE’S A PLAQUE RECOGNIZING THE HOME OF ABOLITIONIST THADDEUS STEVENS. SOON, THE BRICK THREE STORY WILL BE KNOWN AS THE STEVENS AND SMITH CENTER FOR HISTORY AND DEMOCRACY. IT WAS VERY MUCH BOTH OF THEIR HOMES. STEVENS BUYS THIS PROPERTY IN 1844 AT A SHERIFF’S SALE. HE DOESN’T MOVE IN HERE FOR SEVERAL YEARS, AND WHEN HE DOES, HE MOVES IN HERE WITH LYDIA HAMILTON SMITH. LYDIA HAMILTON SMITH SERVED AS STEVENS HOUSE MANAGER AND COMPANION UNTIL HIS DEATH IN 1868.
