A groundbreaking ceremony in St. Paul Wednesday for a project that will significantly enhance the Rondo Neighborhood. The 2.4 acre schoolyard adjacent to Maxfield Elementary will be transformed into a vibrant, green community space says Maxfield Principal Dr. Leslie Hutchins. "We're gonna add a nature walk with trees and some native plants to Minnesota," she says. Designed by students and neighbors, this project is one of the first of its kind statewide.

Federal law enforcement agents with help from Hennepin County Sheriff's Office executed a search warrant Tuesday at a south Minneapolis restaurant in the area of East Lake Street and Bloomington Avenue. A crowd formed around the scene, going so far as to try and block federal agents from leaving the area according to reports from eyewitnesses, with some convinced it was an immigration enforcement operation. There were angry shouts and a demonstration.

It could be a smoky weekend in Minnesota. Wildfires in Saskatchewan and Manitoba, Canada have created air quality alerts throughout the state. Meteorologist Melissa Dye with National Weather Service provides an update on the area most affected. "Taking a look a satellite, smoke is blanketing pretty much the entire state into the eastern Dakotas," says Dye. "As far as where air quality seems to be the worst, it looks like that's more confined to northern Minnesota at the moment.

A local activist group has made it clear they don't want Police or corporations that don't support the LGBTQ-plus community at their events. The Taking Back Pride Coalition has called upon Twin Cities Pride to adhere to their demands. "We feel that for the past nine years, TC Pride has ignored community demands around policing, has ignored community demands around making the park experience more affordable and accessible," says Jae Yates Twin Cities Coalition for Justice.
