The first new hotel to open on Lake Minnetonka in 100 years, The Shoreline, is open for business. Chef Josh Brown and owner Kelly Olsen went to Blaine High School together. Brown knew Olsen had a major project in the works, but he had no idea she was offering him a job when they met onsite.

Minneapolis Police Chief Brian O'Hara is calling it an "outrageous outbreak" of violence in the last 13 hours. Three people were killed in a shooting on the city's south side Tuesday night, with another killing Wednesday afternoon just blocks away. A fifth person was shot and killed Wednesday evening in the 3000 block of 15th Avenue South.

The Anoka Social District, which allows adults to walk around the area with alcoholic beverages, re-opens for the third straight year on Thursday. Investigators say Larry Sharp and his sister were arguing in their mother's hospital room when Sharp grabbed the sister's gun and threatened to shoot her. The incident prompted a lockdown of the hospital as law enforcement swarmed the area. The criminal complaint says the two were arguing over who should have power of attorney over their mother. Sharp then allegedly punched his sister several times in the head and pushed her into a chair.
