CHICO, Calif. - The Chico Police Department is instituting a glass ban started Friday afternoon in preparation for Cesar Chavez weekend. It will go into effect at 6 p.m. Friday afternoon and will remain in effect until Monday, actual Cesar Chavez Day, at 6 p.m.It will span the downtown and south Chico State campus areas of the city. Glass bans are often declared during holidays to prevent glass from littering the streets and sewers.

BUTTE CO., Calif. - The Park Fire arson suspect will be back in Butte County Superior Court for his arraignment on Thursday. Ronnie Stout was in court earlier this month to set a trial date but instead his case was continued. Butte County District Attorney Mike Ramset says Stout believes he wasn't given a valid waiver of his preliminary hearing in January.

BUTTE CO., Calif. - A car crashed into a power pole on Wednesday at around 10:21 p.m. in the area of Colter Way and Skyway north of Magalia, causing 1,904 PG&E customers to lose power. The CHP incident page listed the crash as a minor injury crash. Over 1,900 PG&E customers were without power Wednesday night after a car crashed into a pole north of Magalia.
