Starting May 7, The federal government says it will finally begin enforcing the national Real ID law, after nearly two decades of delays. "The date has been pushed back a couple of times," said Candice Kotyk, Co-Owner of Salmon Berry Travel and Tours. "So hopefully everyone is set. I mean I think that people have had plenty of warning."According to the Department of Homeland Security's website, Real ID is an added security measure designed to enhance national safety.

Anchorage police and the FBI have been stationed outside of a duplex on Mercy Drive in Eagle River for the past three days, intensifying efforts in an ongoing investigation. The Anchorage Police Department (APD) shared a notice on social media Wednesday, urging the public to avoid the area due to law enforcement activity. "If you do not need to be in the vicinity, please avoid it and seek alternative routes until further notice," APD stated.
