PRINCETON, N.C. (WNCN) — A major presence of emergency services and school officials surrounded a crash Wednesday afternoon in Johnston County involving a school bus with students on board and a white SUV. Minutes after school dismissed at Princeton Elementary on Holts Pond Road, the driver of a white SUV crashed into bus #157. Among the students were 5th grader Peyton Brafford and his sister Avalyn, who is in kindergarten. “It looked like the SUV was speeding,” Peyton said.

RALEIGH, N.C. (WNCN) – Police reopened Interstate 40 to regular traffic Wednesday afternoon, hours after a bullet struck a vehicle during the early morning commute in Raleigh. According to the Raleigh Police Department, officers responded at around 4:58 a.m. to I-40 near Chapel Hill Road. During the investigation, additional victims told officers that their vehicles were also hit by gunfire shortly following the first report, police said.

The complex doors at 1960 Coliseum Drive open at 4 p.m. Friday, three hours ahead of the 7 p.m. start time. Later Monday afternoon, President Joe Biden announced that he will visit the state Wednesday for a briefing and an aerial survey of the damage in Asheville and surrounding areas, according to the Associated Press.
