AKRON, Ohio (WOIO) - Akron police say officers arrested a student Thursday after she assaulted a teacher and another student at Buchtel CLC. According to police, the 16-year-old struck the teacher and student in the head with a Stanley cup during an altercation. Officers say the fight broke out just before the start of school between the students, 15 and 16, inside the girl’s restroom.

According to police, officers were called to the popular shopping and living complex around 11:30 p.m. Monday after neighbors reported an armed man standing on his balcony. While no shots were fired, police say another witness reported the man pointed the weapon at apartments.

The sheriff’s office said the corrections officer, a woman whose name was not released, is charged with drug trafficking and illegal conveyance of narcotics into a detention facility. ELYRIA, Ohio (WOIO) - Elyria police say officers arrested a 33-year-old man last week following a drug bust. Investigators say Roderick Cross Jr. turned himself in April 3 at the Elyria Police Department. According to police, officers arrested Cross after searching two of his homes earlier that day. Officers say during their search, they found two guns, fentanyl in the form of powder and pills, crack cocaine and a scale.

PARMA HEIGHTS, Ohio (WOIO) - Parma Heights police say a standoff overnight ended peacefully with the suspect in custody. Officers say they were called out just before midnight Sunday for an armed man walking on Stumph Road near Big Creek Parkway. According to police, the man was having a mental health crisis. Officers say a standoff that lasted about two hours broke out when they found him. Thankfully, the standoff came to an end with no one getting hurt and no shots being fired.

Investigators say these men were spotted back on Oct. 6th, 2024 in a stolen car on Cleveland’s east side. The investigation is heating up with Cleveland police now releasing photos of the suspects. Cuyahoga County CrimeStoppers are also offering a $2,500 reward for information leading to their arrests and indictments.
