A collision in east London has proven fatal after a cyclist was struck by a car. Just before 2 p.m., police said emergency crews responded to the call in the area of Dundas Street and Vancouver Street. One person has been taken to hospital with serious life-threatening injuries, and has since died. Police have spoken with the driver of the vehicle and are investigating. Anyone with dashcam or video surveillance of the incident is asked to contact police.

According to police, the pedestrian was pronounced deceased at the scene. 27th Line in Zorra was closed north of Highway 2, but has since reopened. The St. Thomas Fire Department battling a raging fire in the city on Monday afternoonThe former Weatherhead Company of Canada Limited plant caught fire early Monday afternoon. Fire Chief Dave Gregory says they had a full callback of firefighters, and 50-60 are on scene right now. An aerial truck is helping to douse the building with water, as St. Thomas police controls a large crowd of onlookers.

Unifor Local 444 members are preparing for a midnight strike deadline at Caesars Windsor. Contract talks continued throughout the day on Wednesday between the union and the casino - the current agreement expires at 11:59 tonight. “We’re still miles apart in a lot of issues, mainly wages, but there is still a lot of time to go,” said Unifor Local 444 Treasurer Manny Cardoso.
