Lincoln Littles said Friday that Little Brookland, off N 1st Street and Fallbrook Boulevard and Minis Preschool and Child Care Center near I-80 and West Fletcher will close, leaving the city short 245 daycare spots.

That hope grows inside a meeting room in the jail. It’s crowded, but not just with inmates – also their friends, family and staff. They’re there for a graduation. “You’re here today to celebrate all of the hours, all of the time you have spent,” Jennifer Somers, a therapist at the jail said to start the ceremony.

LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) - A David City man, who was arrested Thursday after escaping from the Lincoln Regional Center after leading police on a chase over train cars, has been charged with escape. Justin Daro was arraigned on the charge in Lancaster County Court Friday and is facing a $500,000 bond. According to an arrest affidavit, Daro is believed to have climbed over a fence at LRC just before midnight on July 1.

LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) - A Lincoln man with a history of arrests related to dealing fentanyl has now been charged with selling a pill tied to a 2023 overdose death. Michel Mikaya, 33, was charged with delivery of a controlled substance this week, after investigators accused him of selling a fentanyl pill which they believe killed a 28-year-old man. In an arrest affidavit, police detail their investigation into the death of a man found at a Lincoln home on August 12, 2023.
