But a lot of work awaits for the River Hawks staff. GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KREX) — Don’t look now, but the Grand Junction Jackalopes (and Humpback Chubs) are finally starting to play some good ball. Yes, they were at home against an equally struggling Northern Colorado Owlz squad, but the Jacks took full advantage of that, taking five of six from the Owlz, outscoring them 82-56 in the six games. Now, the Jackalopes are just seven games under .500 as they try to make up ground on the rest of the league:1. Rocky Mountain Vibes 17-52.

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KREX) — The 2025 Coal Ridge Titans baseball team will forever be etched in history. Prior to May 31, 2025, no Coal Ridge High School boys athletic program had ever been crowned a state champion. With one toss from senior shortstop Jakson Slade to senior first baseman Ben Simons, that all changed in one single instant. 3A Colorado Baseball has been dominated by the Eaton Reds from just north of Greely. Eaton had won four consecutive State Championships (2021-24) and 15 total.

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KREX) — Palisade High School baseball reached the next step in its evolution during the 2025 season. Palisade fell just short in their home regional tournament in 2023. They put in the extra work and became regional champions in 2024, but fell short in the State Great 8. Entering 2025, the Bulldogs worked harder to again achieve a regional title, and then take that next step and get to the second week at the state tournament.
