On February 25, Mozilla introduced a new Terms of Use (ToU) for Firefox that included, among other things, “When you upload or input information through Firefox, you hereby grant us a nonexclusive, royalty-free, worldwide license to use that information to help you navigate, experience, and interact with online content as you indicate with your use of Firefox.” A hornet’s nest of uproar followed, and Mozilla has since rewritten that paragraph in an attempt to clarify it.

While these new changes affect Microsoft customers worldwide, they mirror the changes that the company announced in August last year for its customers within the European Economic Area and Switzerland.

In his induction speech into the Wisconsin State Bowling Hall of Fame in 2012, my dad referred to me affectionately as the “pied piper” for my ability to inspire others to go along with new ideas (example: a local bowling fundraiser that raised over $300K for breast cancer research).
