    (WTAJ) — Easter is right around the corner, and you may want to stock up on wine and spirits if that’s your thing. While the state-controlled Fine Wine & Good Spirits has started opening for various holidays, unlike in the past, a few major holidays still see stores close. Some wine and spirits shops are open on Sundays now, but every store will be closed for Easter, Sunday, April 20, and will reopen normal hours Monday, April 21.

    HARRISBURG, Pa. (WTAJ) — A soon-to-be introduced bill in Pennsylvania would increase film tax credits in hopes of bringing more filming — and economic boosts — to the Commonwealth. Joe Ciresi (D-Montgomery County) plans to introduce legislation that will raise the tax cap for filming from $100 million to $125 million. “The countless economic benefits of film production have heightened competition among states looking to attract filmmaking,” Ciresi penned in a memorandum.

    ALTOONA, Pa. (WTAJ) — A man wanted by Altoona police and believed to be armed and dangerous was arrested in Texas Thursday morning. Zachary Cooper (Altoona Police Department)Zachary Corey Cooper, 37, of Bellefonte, was taken into custody by law enforcement in Marshall, Texas, April 17. He’s currently being held at Harris County Jail, awaiting extradition back to Pennsylvania. Altoona police noted Cooper not only faces charges from them, but also from state police in Lamar and Rockview.

    ALTOONA, Pa. (WTAJ) — Altoona police have updated their most wanted list Thursday, April 17. Featured on the list are people wanted for robbery, burglary and possession with intent to deliver. John Brumm, 46, of Altoona, is wanted for possession with intent to deliver and possession of a firearm from an incident in September 2024, according to court documents. His last known address is in Altoona.

DeShawn Russell, 27, was charged with murder in the first degree, murder in the second, robbery, two counts of attempted murder, aggravated assault and related charges.
