The long-awaited sale of the 13-acre former Davis College campus in Johnson City has been completed. Businessman Adam Weitsman said the $4.5 million deal closed Thursday. He had acquired the property in December 2019. The Riverside Drive site was sold to developer Dave Drew, who plans to transform the former private Baptist bible college into a 75-unit apartment complex. The property is to be called Riverside Gardens. Plans for the project also call for a restaurant and gym.

People passing the site of the former IBM Country Club just west of Johnson City have been curious about the nature of a construction project that's now underway. Workers have been busy digging a deep hole on a site on Watson Boulevard in the town of Union. Some of those who have noticed the activity were under the impression it was related to the long-planned development of a new supply well for the village of Endicott water system.

A fitness center in downtown Binghamton is preparing to open a custom-designed salt sauna facility. Planning for the project at JOG33 Downtown began about a year ago. Construction of the Himalayan pink salt sauna took about six months to complete. JOG33 Downtown is located at 33 Court Street in Binghamton.

New York state has finally given the go-ahead for the long-awaited restoration of the century-old carousel at Ross Park in Binghamton. The city has been planning the project that will relocate the historic merry-go-round to another spot in the park for more than a decade. Drivers should watch out for lane closures on Interstate 81 and Route 17 near the Brandywine Highway in Binghamton. According to the state Department of Transportation, the traffic pattern changes will start Saturday. I-81 southbound will be reduced to a single lane starting at Exit 13. Route 17 eastbound will be reduced to one lane beginning at Exit 72. FLASHBACK: A lane on Interstate 81 in Binghamton was closed approaching a work zone on March 12, 2025.
