WICHITA, Kan. (KWCH) - Bill Self earned a transfer commit from the state of Illinois for a second-consecutive day. On Saturday, it was the Illini transfer forward Tre White pledging his commitment to KU. Kansas has landed Illinois transfer Tre White, his agency @serospartners told @TheFieldOf68. White averaged 10.5 points and 5.5 boards this past season. Spent freshman year at USC, sophomore year at Louisville.

Share WICHITA, Kan. (KWCH) - Wichita State big man Quincy Ballard will explore the possibility of finishing his career in a jersey other than the Shockers. Ballard entered the transfer portal on Tuesday, his agents told ESPN’s Jonathan Givony. The portal officially opened on Monday. The 6-foot-11 center from Syracuse, New York, was with the Shockers for three seasons.

Share LAWRENCE, Kan. (KWCH) - The Kansas Jayhawks will enter the 2025 NCAA Tournament with their lowest seeding ever in the Bill Self era. KU earned the No. 7 seed in the West region. It’s the first time in the two-plus decades under Self that the Jayhawks are lower than a No. 4 seed. KU will open up against No. 10 seed Arkansas. The winner will advance to play No. 2 St. John’s or No. 15 Omaha in the second round. Game information is still TBD.

Eighth-seeded Wichita State led 20-10 just five minutes into the AAC Tournament quarterfinal game, but a 9-0 run in two minutes pulled Memphis within striking distance and eventually to a 39-all tie at halftime.

The Shockers’ home contest with No. 14 Memphis has been assigned to ESPN. It will be their second game on the main network this season, and the first since am 88-51 loss to Florida in the ESPN Events Invitational. The game will tip at 11 a.m. Wichita State last hosted a game on ESPN on Feb. 25, 2024 against Temple.

Share WICHITA, Kan. (KWCH) - The Wichita State Shockers used 17-point halftime lead to fend off a second-half comeback and defeat East Tennessee State 96-87 on Saturday at Charles Koch Arena. The Shockers improve to 8-1 for the first time since 2019 with the win. Wichita State is 5-0 at home. Corey Washington scored 15 of his 17 points in the first half to power the Shockers to a 54-37 lead at the break. Washington chipped in 13 rebounds on the night.

(KWCH) - Kansas quarterback Jalon Daniels threw three interceptions, including a pick-six in the final seconds of the first half, as the Jayhawk offense struggled in a 23-17 loss at Illinois on Saturday. Daniels finished with just 141 yards on 18 of 32 passing with a pair of touchdowns. He was intercepted on the opening drive of the game, the final drive of the first half and again late in the third quarter in Illinois territory.
