Woman and her dog escape burning home

RAND, W.Va. (WSAZ) - A woman and her pet escaped their burning home in Kanawha County. The call came into 911 at 1:42 a.m. Wednesday of a fire in the 5700 block of Raven Drive in Rand. According to the fire chiefs from both Rand and Malden Fire Departments, a woman and her dog were able to get out of the home. No injuries were reported. I-64 crash with injuries in South Charleston

South Charleston, W.Va. (WSAZ) - Traffic is backed up in the westbound lanes of I-64 in South Charleston at mile marker 54. A 911 supervisor told WSAZ that a two-vehicle crash happened around 7:44 a.m. Wednesday near the MacCorkle Avenue westbound exit. The supervisor said injuries are reported. Person injured in I-64 crash

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) - One person was injured in a crash on I-64 at mile marker 9 in Cabell County. According to a supervisor with Cabell County 911, the accident involved two vehicles and happened just after 7 Wednesday morning. The supervisor said one eastbound lane is closed but should reopen soon because a wrecker is on scene to remove any disabled vehicles. Traffic has been backed up for nearly an hour. The person who was injured was transported to the hospital.
Firefighters battle early morning fire

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) - Crews are battling a house fire in the Guyandotte section of Huntington. It started just before 7:15 Tuesday morning on the 3500 block of Prospect Court. LINCOLN COUNTY, W.Va. (WSAZ) - A death investigation is underway in Lincoln County, West Virginia. Troopers responded to Taunton Drive in Hart on Monday evening. A woman’s body was found in a wooded area. The WVSP Crime Scene Unit responded and is investigating. INSTITUTE, W.Va. (WSAZ) - All eastbound lanes of I-64 near Institute are shut down. According to a 911 supervisor, an accident happened around 7:45 Monday morning at mile marker 50, just before the Institute interchange. Although no one was injured in the crash, it did leave behind a lot of debris in the road. A multiple vehicle crash slows traffic in Charleston

CHARLESTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) - Drivers should be aware of a major traffic delay in Charleston Thursday morning. A crash happened just before 8 a.m. at exit 59 at the I-64 east, I-77 north split. According to a 911 supervisor, there were three vehicles involved in the crash, but that no one was injured. Traffic has been at a standstill since the crash. The accident happened around 7:20 a.m. Friday on Shannon Drive near the intersection of Washington Street West. According to a Metro 911 supervisor, first responders are still assessing whether there are injuries. Both lanes of Shannon Drive are shut down. It’s not known how long it’ll take to clear the crash. Man found in field shot to death

MOUNT GAY, W.Va. (WSAZ) - A death investigation is underway in Logan County. According to Sheriff Paul Clemens, a man’s body was found around 6:30 a.m. Friday morning in a field. Sheriff Clemens told WSAZ the man was shot in the chest near Mud Fork Road in Mount Gay, which is about a mile out of Logan. The sheriff’s office isn’t yet releasing the name of the victim. Man dies in UTV crash

PIKE COUNTY, Ky. (WSAZ) - An investigation is underway into what caused a UTV to turn over, killing a man. According to Kentucky State Police, the crash happened around 11:39 p.m. Saturday night on State Highway 1056 in the McCarr area of Pike County, Ky.Troopers said a 29-year-old from Freeburn was driving a Polaris Razor when the UTV left the roadway and overturned. Michael Sincell, Freeburn, 28, was a passenger in the UTV.
