PENDLETON COUNTY, Ky. (WXIX) - A “significant” amount of diesel fuel and oil spilled in Northern Kentucky late Sunday due to ongoing flooding from the Licking River, according to Pendleton County EMS spokesman Rob Braun. The large spill is coming from a trucking garage in the area of State Route 177 on the approach to the bridge into the small, rural town of Butler, he said. Floodwater from the Licking River rushed into the garage and caused the spill, according to Braun.

CINCINNATI (WXIX) - Two tornadoes have been confirmed by the National Weather Service to have touched down in southwest Ohio early Thursday. The first confirmed tornado started in northern Brown County and went into southeast Clinton County near the village of Lynchburg in Highland County, the NWS explained. That is where a home and barn were hit hard in the 2900 block of Oak Grove Road.

A child has died after being accidentally struck by a vehicle Thursday night, according to the Butler County Sheriff’s Office. Deputies and fire crews responded to private property off Cloister Cliffs Road in Madison Township, near Middletown, around 7:12 p.m.The 11-year-old boy was taken to Dayton Children’s Hospital with life-threatening injuries but did not survive, a sheriff’s spokeswoman said.
