NASHVILLE, N.C. (WNCT) — Law enforcement officers with the Nash County Sheriff’s Office and U.S. Marshals attempted to arrest a wanted man Tuesday, Apr. 22, 2025. Law enforcement said Donald Fields, 40, ran away into the woods when they approached him. Fields was also wanted in Connecticut and New York. When Marshals and deputies caught up to Fields in the woods, they found him to be holding a gun to his head. They said Fields said he would not go into custody and then shot himself.
