SALT LAKE CITY — The prosecution in a Utah capital murder case is trying to obtain an execution warrant — and as of last week they’ve cleared nearly every hurdle needed to do so, at least for now. After Ralph Menzies, 67, was ruled competent to be executed, despite his developing dementia, the state filed a motion on Monday requesting his execution proceedings resume.

LEHI – Utahns are reacting to a U.S. Supreme Court decision paving the way for the Trump administration to take away protections for migrants who came to the country under humanitarian parole. The Supreme Court on Friday overruled a lower court that kept in place legal protections for humanitarian parolees from Cuba, Haiti, Nicaragua, and Venezuela. The Trump administration wants to shut down that program, which allows people from those countries to come to the United States temporarily.

MURRAY — Shoes are a necessity for children to go to school. They provide protection, give a sense of security and help students to fit in. Still, many students have to wear shoes that are ill-fitting, no longer functional or may not be able to afford shoes at all. Intermountain Medical Center in Murray partnered with the Murray School District and Murray Education Foundation to provide shoes for the students in need.
