Three people have died in a crash on the New England Highway at Armidale in northern New South Wales on Saturday evening. Emergency services were called to the scene shortly before 6:50pm. Officers arrived to find two vehicles, a black Holden SUV and a silver Mazda SUV, had collided head on. NSW Police said the driver of the Holden, a 27-year-old man, and his passenger, a 27-year-old woman, died at the scene. The driver of the Mazda, a 41-year-old man, also died at the scene.

A man has died after the crop dusting aircraft he was in crashed into a paddock near Bourke in western New South Wales. Emergency services were called to a farm about 7.50am today. Officers arrived to find a crop-dusting aircraft had crashed. NSW Police said the 47-year-old, who was the sole occupant of plane, was treated by paramedics but died at the scene. A crime scene has been established and is being examined.
