From bunnies to dragons, area youths got cracking with their creativity for the Easter egg coloring contest. Each year, the judges at The Spokesman-Review gather to cast their votes, selecting the top three choices in the following age groups: 4 and younger, ages 5 to 8 and ages 9 to 12. And as in past years, having to parse through so many colorful and imaginative designs had the judges scrambling. Nonetheless, they persevered.

The Spokane String Quartet is wrapping up its 2023-24 season with a concert featuring compositions from Benjamin Britten, Edward Elgar and Joseph Haydn. The quartet’s fourth and final performance will open with Haydn’s String Quartet in C Major, Op. 20, No. 2 and Britten’s 3 Divertimenti for String Quartet. Elgar’s String Quartet in E Minor, Op. 83 will conclude the performance following the intermission.
