Lincoln County commissioners Monday will consider reappointing county Highway Superintendent Jason Schultz to a three-year term as management representative on the Lincoln County Safety Committee. The board will also consider the reappointments of Angie Forbes and Charley Wescoat to two-year terms as employee representatives on the committee. Members of the North Platte School Board Thursday discussed changes parents and students can expect to see next year as the district implements its complete cellphone ban. The board met at Jefferson Elementary for its monthly nonvoting meeting. Nebraska Gov. Jim Pillen earlier this month signed a statewide ban on cellphones in public schools into law, but allowed room for schools to implement some of their own policies regarding if and when phones can be used for instructional purposes.
