    MISHAWAKA — The northbound lanes of Main Street over the Indiana Toll Road will be closed starting April 14 for construction on the Main Street bridge. This preventive maintenance, conducted by Milestone Contractors, consists of phase one of the construction continuing to July before phase two begins. The project is expected to continue into mid to late October 2025, a St. Joseph County engineering project manager said.

    SOUTH BEND — A suspect was arrested in connection to a gas station shooting on the city's northwest side. The South Bend Police Department was called to the 3300 block of Portage Road on Monday, April 7, around 10:20 p.m. on a report of shots fired and a vehicle accident. The call was later upgraded to a shooting, police said in a press release.
