RICHVILLE, Ohio — Scores of youthful anglers lined the banks of Petros Lake in Stark County Monday for the fourth annual Cops and Bobbers youth fishing derby, run by the Perry Township Police Department. GREEN, Ohio — The secret is out about the fishing at Nimisila Reservoir. The Summit Metro Parks lake has always been known as a good fishery, but something special happened here in April when angler Will Lutes caught a largemouth bass that weighed 9 pounds, 3 ounces. Word of the catch spread through the fishing community like honey on a biscuit. Fishermens Central manager Mike Philabaum heard about it firsthand.

CLEVELAND, Ohio — As spotted lanternfly eggs prepare to hatch, the Cleveland Metroparks is unleashing a new set of weapons in the battle of the bugs. Four dogs have been trained to recognize the scent of spotted lanternfly egg masses. Gail Samko and her dog Rio are on the team. She says Rio, a rescue, has some anxiety around people, but when he's headed to the park to work, he's all business. "When he gets these leashes on, or his harness, he knows he's working," Samko said. "He gets very antsy.
