    Journalists in the USA TODAY Network in Texas were recently honored by the Associated Press Sports Editors in its annual contest for top sports journalism from 2024, with The Lubbock Avalanche-Journal, Wichita Falls Times-Record and Corpus Christi Caller-Times garnering four national awards. The Times-Record and Caller-Times newspapers compete in the D Division, comprised of small news organizations. The Avalanche-Journal competes in the C division.

    The No. 16 Angelo State football team is seeing the fruits of its labor Thursday. The Rams had 30 of its players selected for Lone Star Conference postseason honors, highlighted by quarterback Braeden Fuller — who was tabbed the J.W. Rollins Offensive Player of the Year. He's the first player to win the award since former QB Kyle Washington back in 2015. The Rams collected 24 All-Conference honors including 14 first-team All-Conference selections.
