    A 53-year-old truck driver has been sentenced to 10 months in prison and disqualified from driving for three years after he knocked down and seriously injured a 70-year-old cyclist in Co Limerick over two years ago. Seamus Hanrahan, a well-known pig farmer from Granagh, Co Limerick, pleaded guilty to careless driving causing serious injury to Gerry Murray who he stuck on a slip road to the N20 on 7 February 2023.

The Burren and Cliffs Explorer is a joint initiative of Clare County Council and the National Parks and Wildlife Service (NPWS), and is designed to take people out of their cars and offer them a free alterative travel mode.

    An economic insights report by Limerick Chamber has found that new housing supply is critically short to meet demand, and that rents in Limerick city have soared by almost 77% over the past five years. Only 5.4% of affordable homes delivered in cities across the country were in Limerick, ranking fourth behind Dublin, Cork and Waterford. The crisis in housing demand and supply is outlined in the Mid-West Economic Insights Report 2025, published by Limerick Chamber.
