AMHERST, Ohio — An Amherst man is dead after being struck by a vehicle over the weekend. According to a Facebook post by the City of Amherst Police Department, the incident took place on Sunday, April 13 at approximately 8:45 p.m near South Lake Street and Milan Avenue. When officers arrived, they found a 69-year-old man identified as James Denger in the street. He was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the vehicle has been identified by name, but is said to be an 85-year-old man.

ELYRIA, Ohio — Elyria police arrested a 17-year-old boy after he allegedly stabbed a 31-year-old man at a city residence on Tuesday. At approximately 8:28 a.m., police responded to a reported stabbing in the 400 block of Garford Avenue. When officers arrived, they found the victim suffering from multiple stab wounds. Officers immediately provided medical aid to the victim while they waited for an ambulance to arrive.

According to a press release from the Summit County Prosecutor's Office, 33-year-old Antonio Miller pleaded guilty to the following charges: One count of Aggravated Trafficking of Drugs (F1)One count of Having Weapons While Under Disability (F3) In May of 2021, the Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force found and arrested Miller at his home.

BRUNSWICK, Ohio — A Brunswick man was arrested after attacking his ex-girlfriend while she was working at a Dollar General store in the city. On Monday, March 31 at approximately 8:32 a.m., Brunswick police responded to a call of an employee being stabbed. Police quickly identified 55-year-old Arthur Velasquez, of Burton, as the suspect. Shortly after the search began for Velasquez, he contacted police to provide his location so that he could surrender. He was taken into custody without incident.
