    GRAND ISLAND, Neb. (KSNB) - A Grand Island man is facing two felony burglary charges after thefts were reported at a local business. Christopher Martin, 36, was arrested Wednesday for burglaries reported in May and June at Chief Buildings Office, located at 1821 S. North Road. According to the arrest affidavit, a burglary was reported on May 14 after someone had pried a door open and stole items from several different office cubicles. One of the items taken was a GoPro HERO8 camera valued at $400.

    HOLDREGE, Neb. (KSNB) - A Holdrege man will be sentenced in August following the death of his infant daughter nearly a year ago. Jason Remmenga, 25, pleaded no contest to negligent child abuse resulting in death for the 2024 death of his daughter, Lea. Remmenga had been charged with intentional child abuse resulting in death, but that was amended as part of the deal.

    JOHNSON LAKE, Neb. (KSNB) - As Memorial Day weekend gets underway, a warning to people who may be out enjoying the holiday at Johnson Lake. The Two Rivers Public Health Department announced Friday that Johnson Lake has tested positive for E. coli bacteria. On May 19, Johnson Lake test results for the bacteria came back 1203 MPN (most probable number) per 100ml. When bacterial levels test above 235 count per 100 ml, conditions are at a higher risk to human health when swimming.

    GRAND ISLAND, Neb. (KSNB) - A September trial is set for a man arrested by Grand Island Police during an undercover sex crime operation. Christian Jensen, 24, is facing 17 felony charges including sexual assault, two counts of sex trafficking of a minor, six counts of child enticement by electronic device and eight counts of enticement by electronic device. Those charges come following an enticement investigation conducted by Grand Island Police that started on Feb. 10.
