It led to a 16-month probe into alleged misconduct in the city’s Finance Department. Last month, Sheriff Greg Countryman announced two arrests: the city’s Finance director and its former Revenue manager.

PINE MOUNTAIN, Ga. (WRBL) — Four men were recently indicted by the Georgia Attorney General’s Gang Prosecution Unit for their alleged connection to a home invasion back in November 2023. According to Attorney General Chris Carr, the men were charged stemming from the home invasion, shooting and attempted armed robbery that happened at a residence that was occupied by two individuals, where one sustained two non-fatal gunshot wounds to the legs.

The Columbus City Council spent more than half an hour arguing on Tuesday morning before finally agreeing to pay the legal fees for a human resources director. Reather Hollowell was a target of an investigation that was recently concluded by the Muscogee County Sheriff’s Office. Hollowell was ultimately not charged. COLUMBUS, Ga. (WRBL) — Charges against a former city of Columbus Finance Department employee have been dropped, according to the assistant district attorney prosecuting the case. Former Revenue Manager Yvonne Ivey was arrested last month on two counts of simple battery. The charges were filed last month after a 16-month investigation into the city’s Finance Department by the Muscogee County Sheriff’s Office.

COLUMBUS, Ga. (WRBL) — Several hundred protesters expressed their displeasure with President Donald Trump in downtown Columbus Saturday morning. Carrying signs that read “No Kings, No Ice” and “Join the Resistance,” the peaceful gathering was held in two locations downtown. A small group of a few dozen gathered at 13th Street and Broadway. A much larger and more vocal group was in the Broadway median across from the RiverCenter for the Performing Arts.
