Her body was found on a pile of clothesA woman was heard screaming on the night a mother-of-two was allegedly raped and murdered in her Bristol home almost 60 years ago, a jury heard. Louisa Dunne, 75, who had been twice widowed and lived alone, was found dead in her front room in Britannia Road, Easton, by neighbours on the morning of June 28 in 1967. Police launched an investigation, including taking palm prints from thousands of local boys and men, but could not identify Mrs Dunne's killer.

An anti-Islam terrorist who attacked officers with Molotov cocktails and a hatchet outside a police station has been jailed for life and ordered to serve a minimum of 22 years in prison. Alexander Dighton, 28, knocked one officer unconscious and stabbed another in the leg when he launched an attack on Talbot Green Police Station in Rhondda Cynon Taf on January 31.

A 68 year-old woman died from her injuriesThe parent company of Pontins holiday parks has been charged with corporate manslaughter after part of a ceiling at a Somerset resort collapsed on guests six years ago. Eighteen people were injured at the Brean Sands site in February 2019 when a 40-metre section of structural ducting and ceiling fell inside an entertainment area. Grandmother Wendy Jones, 68, was among six people taken to hospital following the incident. She died in August 2019.

An inquest opened into the death of Morgan Dorsett aged 19A teenage girl died after suffering severe injuries to her face and neck after being attacked by an XL bully. Morgan Dorsett, from Shrewsbury, Shropshire, died following the dog attack which occurred inside a flat on Cobhorn Drive, Withywood, Bristol, on February 26. At the opening of an inquest at Avon Coroners’ Court, it was heard a post-mortem examination gave a provisional cause of death as dog bites to the 19-year-old's neck.

A man confronted by online paedophile hunters was found dead on a motorway having suffered multiple injuries, the opening of an inquest has been told. Adrian Smith, 48, from Chipping Sodbury, south Gloucestershire, featured in a livestream by self-proclaimed "child protection service" groups on the evening of February 21. He was arrested by Avon and Somerset Police that night and released from custody the following day.
