ATLANTA — A Florida woman is calling on Delta Air Lines and Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport to fix what she describes as a broken system after she said she was nearly stranded without wheelchair assistance during a recent connection in Atlanta. Liz Venendaal, who has cerebral palsy and regularly catches flights for business, said she was left waiting and confused after deplaning from a Delta flight on April 12.

ATLANTA — A Delta flight bound for Atlanta caught fire on the tarmac at Orlando International Airport Monday morning, prompting an emergency evacuation and stranding hundreds of passengers, some of whom were still trying to get home Monday night. Delta confirmed flames were shooting from the tailpipe of one of the engines on Flight 1213 just as the plane began taxiing for takeoff. The aircraft was carrying 282 passengers, 10 flight attendants and two pilots.

STOCKBRIDGE, Ga. — A deadly shooting at a Stockbridge apartment complex Wednesday afternoon left two people dead — including a well-known bail recovery agent. The shooting happened around 12 p.m. at the Southwinds Point Apartments off Old Atlanta Road near North Henry Boulevard. Stockbridge Police said the first call came in around noon, reporting suspicious individuals believed to be bounty hunters in the area of 412 Evergreen Way. That call was quickly followed by multiple reports of gunfire.
