ATLANTA — Attorneys for a group of international students are asking a federal judge in Atlanta to stop the termination of student visas, which they say immigration authorities handled improperly. A hearing is set for 9:30 a.m. Thursday at the Russell Federal Building downtown, where lawyers from Atlanta-based Kuck Baxter Immigration will seek a temporary restraining order against Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).

PEACHTREE CITY, Ga. — A homegrown champion is back in Georgia with a gold medal and her eyes on the Olympics. Alexis Alden, a 17-year-old BMX racer from Peachtree City, returned home Tuesday from the Pan American Cycling Championships in Chile, where she won gold while competing with Team USA Cycling. She landed at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport, welcomed by her proud family carrying balloons, signs and huge smiles.
