The food and drink heritage of Cork is to be celebrated in the historic surroundings of the English Market in a new event added to the mouthwatering menu of the Cork on a Fork Festival scheduled to take place across the city in August. The “Supper by the Fountain” event to take place on Saturday, August 16, will present diners with a multi-course meal prepared by three of the city’s most respected chefs, Pamela Kelly of Farmgate Café, Aishling Moore of Goldie and Harrison Sharpe of Elbow Lane.

A girl with profound autism in the Bandon Kinsale municipal district has been left with no therapist and has lost her social worker due to staff turnover, a Cork county councillor told last week’s meeting of the authority. Social Democrats councillor Ann Bambury sought support for a motion urging the health minister to address severe shortages in staffing of the Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (Camhs).
