A 25-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of arson following a large gorse fire in the Mourne Mountains last night. The large fire threatened homes, and at one point the operation to control it was declared a major incident. The PSNI said the fire, which was ablaze in the Sandbank Road area of Hilltown, is being treated as having been ignited deliberately. Road closures were in place overnight, with local diversions in place, but have now been lifted.
