Kent State University announced Monday it will close its Women’s Center, LGBTQ+ Center and its Multicultural Center to comply with a state ban on diversity, equity and inclusion initiatives in higher education. However, the university said that the physical spaces that formerly housed those centers will remain open. That includes the E. Timothy Moore Center, the home of the multicultural center, and the Williamson House, the home to the women’s center.

Say Yes Cleveland, a nonprofit that provides college scholarships to Cleveland students, will be cutting back on the support staff it provides to schools throughout the city. The organization said Tuesday that it is offering a voluntary "exit package" to the 89 family support specialists who work at Cleveland Metropolitan School District schools and also at some charter schools that partner with the district.

The Akron Public Schools Board of Education voted to officially place Superintendent Mary Outley under contract Tuesday night, after a 34-year career in the district in various roles, including both as a teacher and administrator. Outley was appointed superintendent on April 28 in the same meeting that the board approved a separation agreement with the previous superintendent, Michael Robinson, after an investigation found he had verbally abused and threatened staff.

Ohio Attorney General Dave Yost filed suit in Cuyahoga County Common Pleas Court against the former board and leaders of Notre Dame College for allegedly misusing the college’s endowment funds. The college’s leadership voted to close Notre Dame College last year after years of declining enrollment and struggles navigating the debt it owed. The college’s last official day of operation was May 2, and the 48-acre campus in South Euclid was listed for sale not long after.

Cleveland Metropolitan School District's Board of Education approved $2.5 million for a new salary structure for almost 500 administrators, which will result in raises for many of those employees. The new salary structure comes at a time when the district is facing budget challenges, and in spite of annual raises those staff already receive.
