NASHVILLE — Devon Burton, 30, of Columbus, has been charged with Level 6 felony counts of strangulation, intimidation and two counts of domestic battery resulting in moderate bodily injury, in addition to a class B misdemeanor battery by bodily waste after two separate altercations on the way home from Hard Truth Hills. On April 4, law enforcement responded to the restaurant after receiving reports of a physical domestic dispute previously occurring in the parking lot.

Mother’s Cupboard Community Kitchen raised just over $15,000 at this year’s Soup Bowl Benefit March 23, around $2,300 less than last year’s event, Co-President Rhonda Van Winkle said. The net income includes ticket sales and money raised at the silent auction. Van Winkle explained that the difference was due to the number of tickets sold this year compared to last year. “While we sold more pre-sale tickets, the number of people who paid at the door was down quite a bit from last year,” she said.
