Offaly rugby stars Michael Milne and Cormac Izuchukwu are in training with the rest of the Ireland squad ahead of the upcoming summer tour. With their departure for Tbilisi now just a week away, the Ireland Men’s squad have been training at the IRFU High Performance Centre under the guidance of interim head coach Paul O’Connell. The 32-man squad, and five training panellists, continued their preparations for the Tests against Georgia on July 5 and Portugal on July 12.

Gardai have issued a renewed appeal for information on a teenage boy missing from his home in the Midlands. Gardaí are renewing their appeal to the public for assistance in tracing the whereabouts of 16-year-old Jake Cunningham Burke who is reported missing in Mountmellick, Co. Laois since Friday, June 16Jake is described as being approximately 5 foot in height, with a slim build, black hair and green eyes. Jake is believed to be in the Carlow area.

Plans for a large new school in Tullamore have been put on hold as Offaly County Council has sought more information before making a decision.
