A former Kenosha Unified School District teacher who was accused of inappropriately communicating with a student pleaded guilty to 15 misdemeanor counts of disorderly conduct in Kenosha County Circuit Court on April 4. Christian J. Enwright, 29, originally was charged with 22 misdemeanor counts of disorderly conduct on May 10, 2024. Each of the charges is punishable by a fine of up to $1,000, 90 days in jail or both.

The city's budget consists of two separate documents, the annual budget and five-year capital improvement plan. Budget meetings in various committees will take place in the coming weeks. Habitat for Humanity of Kenosha has announced the upcoming dedication of two more homes. The homes being dedicated in the coming days on 35th Avenue will mark the 20th and 21st homes the local nonprofit has built for the community. A home dedication ceremony will be held for Amanda Marin and her family on Oct. 25 at their new home in the 4700 block of 35th Avenue. The following week, a ceremony will be held on Oct. 29 for another woman and her family in the same neighborhood.

The inaugural "Boo with the Badge" Halloween celebration drew hundreds of children to the Kenosha Safety Center on Saturday afternoon. The free event, held at 5716 14th Ave., allowed area residents to meet with Kenosha Police Department officers and celebrate the season with a free trunk-or-treat, a haunted house and bus, plus free pumpkins and plenty of candy and treats. Manuel Ruiz-Gomez, 27, was charged Monday in Kenosha County Circuit Court with two counts of possession of child pornography, a Class D felony. A former Riverview School staffer charged with multiple crimes against children could face additional charges, a Kenosha County prosecutor said Thursday. Anna M. Crocker, 33, of Salem, has been charged in Kenosha County Circuit Court with felonies of first-degree child sexual assault/sexual assault of a child under 13, possession of child pornography and exploitation of a child-filming. She appeared at the Pre-Trial Facility Thursday for a preliminary hearing.
