MACKINAC ISLAND, Mich. The demonstrators, organized by the "Oil and Water Don't Mix" coalition, marched down Main Street, urging state leaders to halt the project's pending approval. PETOSKEY, Mich. (WPBN/WGTU)— More than a decade after his death, Larry Rubin, a pivotal figure in the construction of the Mackinac Bridge, was finally laid to rest in the Jewish section of Greenwood Cemetery in Petoskey. Rubin, who served as the Mackinac Bridge Authority's director for nearly 30 years, was initially believed to have been buried next to his first wife. However, his cremains were discovered on the other side of the bridge he helped build.
